Getting There

Start / End: Arusha or Karatu

Day 1

Arusha / Karatu → Lake Manyara National Park → Arusha

Early morning pick-up from Arusha or Karatu and drive to Lake Manyara National Park (approx. 2–2.5 hours).

Upon entering the park, begin a full game drive through the lush underground forest, open grasslands, and the soda lake shoreline. Wildlife commonly seen includes elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, hippos, and a wide variety of birds. Lake Manyara is also one of the few places in Africa where lions are known to climb trees.

You will enjoy a packed picnic lunch at a designated viewpoint inside the park.

After lunch, continue with afternoon game drives before exiting the park and driving back to Arusha or Karatu, arriving in the early evening.
