Your journey begins with a morning flight from Dar es Salaam (or Arusha on request) to Mahale via a scheduled light aircraft. Upon arrival at the airstrip, enjoy a scenic boat transfer along Lake Tanganyika to your lodge.

After check-in and lunch, spend the afternoon relaxing on the white sandy beach or take a short guided forest walk. The setting is incredibly peaceful—mountains rising behind you, and one of Africa’s deepest lakes stretching endlessly ahead.

After an early breakfast, depart with expert guides for your chimpanzee trekking adventure in the Mahale rainforest. Trekking can take anywhere from 1 to 4 hours depending on chimpanzee movement.

Once located, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing the chimpanzees—watching their social interactions, grooming, feeding, and playful behavior in their natural habitat.

Return to camp for lunch, followed by leisure time. Optional activities include kayaking, swimming, or a sunset dhow cruise on Lake Tanganyika.

Enjoy a relaxed morning by the lake before your boat transfer back to the airstrip. Board your scheduled flight returning to Dar es Salaam.
