On arrival, transfer by boat across the turquoise waters of Lake Tanganyika to your lodge nestled at the base of the Mahale Mountains.

Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach or enjoying a short guided walk.

After breakfast, head into the forest of Mahale Mountains National Park with expert trackers.

Follow chimpanzee calls and fresh signs through dense vegetation until you locate a habituated group. Observe their behavior at close range.

Return to camp for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing or swimming in the lake.

A second trekking day allows for a deeper experience and better photographic opportunities.

You may track a different chimp group or revisit the same one, depending on ranger guidance.
