Mikumi National Park is one of Tanzania’s most accessible and wildlife-rich safari destinations, located in Southern Tanzania along the main highway between Dar es Salaam and the country’s southern parks. The park is known for its wide open plains, reliable sightings of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and hippos, and its resemblance to the Serengeti ecosystem in a more compact setting.
