This 3-day Nyerere National Park (former Selous) camping safari from Zanzibar is perfect if you want a short, wild, and affordable escape from the beach. Fly directly from Zanzibar to Nyerere, enjoy real bush camping in a tented camp, and experience boat safari, game drives and an optional walking safari along the Rufiji River.

Day 01 :

Zanzibar → Nyerere (Selous) • Boat Safari & Campfire Night

Early morning pickup from your Zanzibar hotel and transfer to Zanzibar Airport.
Check in for your scheduled flight to Nyerere National Park (Selous) – beautiful views over the Indian Ocean and Tanzanian wilderness.
On arrival at the airstrip, meet your safari guide and transfer to your tented camp with a short game-viewing drive on the way.
Check-in, refresh and enjoy lunch at camp.

Afternoon:

Head out for a evening safari .
Spot hippos, crocodiles, birds of prey, kingfishers, bee-eaters and often elephants coming to drink on the riverbanks.
Enjoy the sunset over the water before returning to camp.

Evening:

Dinner at camp and time around the campfire, listening to the sounds of the bush.

Day 02 :

Full-Day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park

Wake up early with coffee/tea and a light snack before heading into the park.

Depart for a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park.
Explore a mix of riverine forest, open savannah, woodlands, lakes and sand rivers – ideal habitat for:
- Elephants, giraffes, buffalo
- Lions, hyenas, jackals
- African wild dogs (Nyerere is one of the best places to see them)
- Zebra, wildebeest, impala, kudu and more

Your guide will choose routes based on season, water levels and wildlife movements.

Picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the park.
Continue game viewing in the afternoon, then return to camp before dark.

Evening:

Hot shower, dinner and another night under canvas with the sounds of the bush all around.

Day 03 :

Optional Walking Safari • Flight Back to Zanzibar
